“SKYE”
Amberglo’s Blue Sky at Sandyhill, CGC, ATT CR

Background
Skye is a female Golden Retriever, born
June 28th in the year1997. She is sired by Champion
Genstar’s Indigo Blue and Champion Amberglo’s Autumn Leaves. In
addition to swimming, she also enjoys hiking and she lives and breathes
for the pleasure of retrieving tennis balls - anytime, anywhere and for
extensive periods of time.
Skye began her Animal Assisted Therapy
training and visiting at 12 weeks of age. She has passed her CGC
(Canine Good Citizen) and Temperament Test. She obtained her TheraPet
membership and is also Delta Pet Partner. Skye participated in the Hope
Crisis Response training before retiring from Disaster Response work,
but will be continuing her therapy work at Cornell Hall in Roselle Park,
New Jersey and with Domestic Violence Shelters.
Special Accomplishments

NJ Veterinary Foundation - 2002
Skye was placed in the Foundation’s Hall of Fame Special
Recognition category for her extensive work at Pier 94 in New York City
after the 9/11 tragedy.

National ASPCA – 2002
Skye was honored with the 2002 Trooper Award by the ASPCA
in February 2002 for her extensive work at Pier 94 in New York City
after the 9/11 tragedy. She was the third dog to begin extensive work at
Pier, worked on the Ferry trips of families to Ground Zero and continued
her work through to the closing of the family center several months
later. Skye also participated in the November, 2001 Memorial Service
presentation of urns and flags to the 9/11 victim’s families.
